For weeks the MDR hat advertised with the face of one the most beautiful women in classical music. But as soon as Alondra de la Parra takes up the baton in the “Reiheins” concert, beauty and femininity are absolutely marginal. Everything becomes musical expression. The realisation is attained that a female conductor is a conductor when no more thought is given to whether something distinguishes her from her male colleagues or not.
